What We're Reading - M.T. Anderson

Every now and then, I like to dip into the wonders found in Children's fiction and boy have I recently greatly enjoyed the first two books from "M.T. Anderson's Thrilling Tales" series, "Whales on Stilts" and "The Clue in the Lineoleum Lederhosen". While I imagine that kids will enjoy the silly, over-the-top adventures of Jasper Dash, Boy Technonaut, Lily Gefelty and Katie Mulligan as they battle a mad scientist's dreams of conquest with the aide of his army of whales on stilts and solve a mystery of missing lineoleum lederhosen wearing quints involving spoofs of many 30's and 40's children's series characters, adults who read such series books as The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Bobbsey Twins or Tom Swift growing up will appreciate the send ups too. M.T. Anderson has created a winning series that is sure to please kids and adults alike. Besides, how can you pass up the only book that will ever make reference to lineoleum and lederhosen at the same time ... c'mon admit it you're curious!
