One-time Tax Refund...Do You Qualify?

Hey, have you filed your taxes yet? No? Me neither. According to the IRS, millions of early filers have overlooked the Telephone Excise Tax Refund for 2006 only. What is it? "The Telephone Excise Tax Refund (TETR) is a one-time payment available on your 2006 federal income tax return. It is designed to refund previously collected long distance telephone taxes. Individuals, businesses and tax-exempt organizations are eligible to request it." Standard refunds range from $30 to $60, though you can find the exact amount if you held onto your phone bills from March 2003 to July 2006. (Drat.) Please visit IRS.gov for more information, and click on Telephone Excise Tax Refund.
