Samuel Oschin Planetarium Show at Griffith Observatory

The newly constructed Samuel Oschin Planetarium has generated a considerable wave of interest for Angelenos. The new dome, star projector, laser digital projection system, seats, sound system, and theatrical lighting may be the finest planetarium in the world.
However, it is not as easy as one would guess to view any of the $7.00 daily shows. (except Monday when the Observatory is closed to the public.) First of all, only members of Friends Of The Observatory (FOTO) may make reservations for the show in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium in advance. Reservations MUST be made 72 hours in advance. The public will need to purchase tickets when they arrive.

Secondly, visitors are recommended to make a shuttle reservation just to visit the Observatory; and your shuttle reservation absolutely does NOT guarantee the ability to purchase a ticket to the Samuel Oschin Planetarium.

A Limited Free Timed Reservation
is available if you park your vehicle at Greek Theater; a special shuttle will run from the Greek Theatre to the Observatory. This reservation is for visiting the Observatory only, not to watch the Planetarium show.

Another important note from the Observatory!!! Planetarium will try to prevent you from entering the show if you have children under five years of age with you, even you have purchased the tickets.
