Bizarre Book Title of the Year
The Stray Shopping Carts of Eastern North America: A Guide to Field Identification by Juilan Montague won the 29th Annual 'Bookseller / Diagram Prize' for the oddest title of the year. This British prize was set up in 1978 by Horace Bent. The winning title is announced on the eve of the London Book Fair; the prize, a bottle of more than fairly passable (wine). Last year's winner: "People Who Don't Know They're Dead: How They Attach Themselves To Unsuspecting Bystanders and What to Do About it." The first winner in 1978: "Proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Nude Mice."
