Today the Burbank Library employees were saddened to learn that one of our staff members passed away last night after a short battle with cancer. Gina Lee Anfenson was a library assistant who worked on both the audio visual and reference service desks, as well as handling the many interlibrary loan requests received by the Library. Gina was a hard worker with a can-do attitude and a keen sense of humor. She possessed outstanding customer service skills and excelled at resolving problems. Gina had a kind and caring heart and was quick to befriend both people and animals in need. She loved sci fi conventions and dark chocolate. Prior to working at the Library, Gina was a free-lance writer and an actor. (Her favorite story was working as an extra on a film and receiving a back rub from John Travolta!)

It's never easy to say goodbye, but it seems especially hard to accept that a coworker and friend who was here two months ago is now gone. We will miss Gina. May she rest in peace knowing her job was well done on earth.

I have been searching for my friend Gina for several years. I knew that something terrible must've happened when her Christmas cards stopped arriving after more than 35 years. Thank you for the nice memorial article.
