Hooray for Hollywood!

Long before the movie premieres and glamorous movie stars, Hollywood was a sleepy little town filled with dusty fields, quaint bungalows, and millionaires' estates. On Wednesday, August 29, author Gregory Williams will be your tour guide for the Story of Hollywood, a journey beyond the star-studded surface to the town's days of gangsters, scandals, seedy decline and eventual revitalization.

Mr. Williams' book, The Story of Hollywood, is lavishly illustrated with the famous faces and places that made the town legendary, offering a unique perspective on celebrity nightlife and the behind-the-scenes stories of day-to-day life.

In addition to a lifelong interest in Hollywood's history, Greg Williams has been a puppeteer and puppet designer for 25 years. Some of his film credits include Men in Black, Men in Black 2, Child's Play 3, and Pee Wee's Playhouse. He also wrote a series of children's books with Jim Henson based on the Muppet characters.

Join us for a fascinating talk and slide show at 7 PM in the Burbank Central Library's auditorium.
