Best of 2007: The Reincarnationist

It's the end of the year, and it's time to reflect on the best books of 2007. Several of our staff members have made their selections - feel free to tell us your favorite book published in 2007 by clicking on the comments link below. Louise, who also recommended Interred with Their Bones, had one more favorite from this past year.

I enjoyed reading The Reincarnationist by M.J. Rose. It has two exciting stories, one set in ancient Rome, the other story starts out in present day Rome. It’s entertaining to follow all the different strands in the tale as they slowly unwind for the protagonist.

Both The Reincarnationist and my earlier selection, Interred with Their Bones, involve a quest for a historical artifact that has been the flashpoint for murders, both in the past and in the present.
