Best Books of 2009: A Big Little Life

It's that time of year again, and your friendly neighborhood librarians are eager to tell you about the best books of 2009. Here is Gladis with a review of her favorite book of the year.

If anyone out there enjoys animal anecdotes, dog stories in particular, then I recommend Dean Koontz's A Big Little Life. While this memoir is about a dog in a style reminiscent of Marley and Me, that is where the similarities end. Available as a book on CD and in print, let Dean Koontz introduce you to Trixie, his good dog, and the difference she made in his life. Laugh, wonder, and cry with Dean as he recounts Trixie's amazing life- her beginnings at Canine Companions for Independence, her body of works as a published author, her love of others, and her altruism . The book on CD is read by the author himself.
