Best Books of 2009: New Tricks

It's that time of year again, and your friendly neighborhood librarians are eager to tell you about the best books of 2009. Here is Patrice with a review of her favorite book of the year.

New Tricks by David Rosenfelt is the 7th book in this great mystery series featuring wisecracking attorney Andy Carpenter. Carpenter inherited millions and only works when he feels like it, preferring to devote his time to his dog rescue charity. When a judge assigns him a pro-bono custody case representing a Bernese Mountain Dog whose owner was murdered, Carpenter becomes entangled in a case involving murder, DNA, explosions, adultery, spies, and more. Like all of Rosenfelt’s Andy Carpenter books, this is clever, entertaining and hard to put down.
