ANIMESHON! Teen Anime Festival

It’s almost time for our annual Teen Anime Festival, and it’s going to be a fun and fabulous afternoon. We have three guest speakers from the local animation community:

CHANCE RASPBERRY, who draws for The Simpsons, is also working on some new projects of his own that he’ll be sharing with us. To visit his YouTube Channel, follow this link: For updates on videos and other news and projects that are happening with Chance, visit his blog at this link:

SNAKEBITE is a “digital paint artist,” which is to say a grand master of Photoshop, among (many) other things. He brings art to life with color, shadow and texture. Go to his website at: Or, on MySpace, they call him Mr. Bite: You can also find him here:

JOE PEARSON, creator/writer/producer/director,will be talking about his upcoming film, “War of the Worlds: Goliath.” Go here: to watch the trailer.

In addition, we will, of course, be screening some new anime episodes; and we also have a special treat from local business Tim Weske’s SWORDPLAY: A live samurai sword-fighting demonstration! Also, prize drawings, cosplay, and anime buttons to trade.

The festival's master of ceremonies will be, as always, the wonderful CHARLES ZEMBILLAS of The Animation Academy.

ANIMESHON is for TEENS ONLY (sixth grade and up), and takes place Saturday, January 30th, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., at our Buena Vista branch. For a seating reservation, please call 818 238-5589; or sign up at any of the three libraries at the reference desk.
