Teen Tech Week

Teen Tech Week 2010 is March 7-13! Teen Tech Week is a national initiative sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association. It is meant to remind teens (and their significant adults) that the library is both a physical and virtual place for exploration of the many types of technology available, including DVDs, music, gaming, video production, online homework help, social networking, audiobooks and more.

This year’s TTW event at Burbank Public Library will be on Friday, March 12, at the Buena Vista Branch. We will be having a visit from THE GAME COACH, a “video gaming vehicle” with hundreds of the best games on xBox 360 and Wii! The Game Coach will be set up in the staff parking lot behind the auditorium from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Teens may sign up for a gaming session by calling 818 238-5589 and leaving their name and telephone number. (We will be assigning session times, so if you can’t be there before 4:00, or have to be to dance class by 5:00, for example, please say that in your message. We will do our best to accommodate you.)

While teens wait for their sessions in the auditorium, we will be showing Mecha anime episodes, and snacks will be served. This event is for teens in grades 6-12 only. We hope to see you at the library!
