Pledge of Allegiance Art Display

Pause for the Pledge of Allegiance

Each year the Burbank Noon Kiwanis Club sponsors a PAUSE FOR THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE contest.

Entries in art and photography are submitted from elementary, middle school, and high school students. They are currently on display in the Burbank Central Library Children’s Room and the winners will be announced at a ceremony held by the Kiwanis Club on Flag Day.

For the fourteenth consecutive year, the Burbank Kiwanis Club will once again give the citizens of Burbank the opportunity to pause along with fellow Americans across the land to pledge allegiance to our nation's flag.

This event will occur at the Burbank Tennis Center in McCambridge Park on Flag Day, Monday June 14, 2010. The Pause for the Pledge of Allegiance celebration will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a concert by the Burbank Community Band.

At 3:30 cash prizes will be awarded to the winning entries in the patriotic poster and photo contests that have been held in the public and parochial schools of Burbank.

Members of the Kiwanis sponsored Boy Scouts of America Troop 204 will present their Historic Flag Ceremony, and at 4:00 p.m., the audience will pause to pledge allegiance to our two hundred and thirty-three year old national emblem.
