Teen CRAFT for Dia de los Muertos

Dia de los Muertos is a holiday set aside to honor and remember family members and friends who have died. It is celebrated in Mexico (and in other guises in many cultures) with feasting, the visiting (and decorating) of graves, and the building of ofrendas (altars or memorial tableaux) for the beloved dead.

Teens! Make your own miniature ofrenda in a tin box!

You can honor a family member, a friend, a pet, a celebrity—whoever you like.

The box and many craft items to decorate it will be provided. Bring a small photo (don’t cut up an original, make a photocopy!) of your person, plus anything TINY you want to include that is personal to him, her or it (see example).
