Happy Birthday, William Henry Harrison!

Who, you may ask, is William Henry Harrison?

I hope that you raised your hand and said, "Pick me, pick me, I know!" and then answered that William Henry Harrison served as our 9th President and was born on February 9, 1773.

Your local library has books about William Henry Harrison, who is noted for serving the shortest term as President in United States history (32 days), being the first President to die while in office (setting off a Constitutional crisis about his successor), being the last President born before there was a United States of America, and for possessing one of the great campaign slogans from Presidential politics: "Tippecanoe and Tyler too."

More information about William Henry Harrison can be found here, here, here and here.

Harrison won the election of 1840 but died in 1841 after serving only 32 days in office due to illness caught during his long inaugural address in extremely bad winter weather.
