National Youth Literacy Day
August 26

826 National invites students to "Be an 826 Student for a Day." Try your hand at writing projects like those offered to students at 826 centers nationwide!

Visit 826on826.org to send in your 8-2-6 haiku, 82.6 word short story, or 826 character "news" article for 826 to publish online. What is .6 of a word you might ask? That becomes your most important task. So put on your thinking cap and start to fiddle, and write a story that fixes the 82.6 word riddle!

826 will select their favorite entries and the authors will receive a totebag full of 826 goodies.

826 National is a nonprofit tutoring, writing, and publishing organization with chapters in eight cities across the country that are dedicated to helping students, ages 6-18, with expository and creative writing.
