The Best of 2011

One of the many items [old and new] enjoyed and recommended by Burbank Public Library staff during 2011 for your consideration:

Life, by Keith Richards

Contrary to what you might think--based on his ghoulish 1970s public image (which he now admits was partly show biz)--Keith Richards turns out to be a genial and engaging storyteller. Life has plenty of anecdotes for the casual fan, but also details techniques of specific interest to musicians: how he developed his guitar style, and how he writes songs.

[The library offers this selection as a nonfiction book, in large print, and as an audio book.]Reviewed by Jim
