The Best of 2011

One of the many items [old and new] enjoyed and recommended by the Library staff during 2011 for your consideration:

I watched the animated TV series, The Adventures of Tintin, Season One, over the weekend, and loved it. It's a fun, clean, and entertaining cartoon that can be enjoyed by both children and adults.

I used to read the comics when I was young, and enjoyed the adventures of the young Belgian investigative journalist, Tintin, and his loyal dog, Snowy, who would accidentally get involved in adventures to fight evil. The book was created by Georges Rémi (1907 - 1983), known as Hergé, and was published in 1929.

The two-disc DVD comprises seven episodes: "The Crab and the Golden Claws," "The Secret of the Unicorn," "Red Rackham's treasure," "Cigars of the Pharaoh," "The Blue Lotus," "The Black Island," and "The Calculus Affair."

A nice preview for the new Tintin movie!
