What We're Reading: Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick

Joe Schreiber's new teen book is a really fun read! Also a fast one--I read it in about an hour and a half, mostly because I couldn't stop.

"Say 'female foreign exchange student' to any group of high school guys and you'll get the exact same look...all of us picturing some chic Mediterranean lioness with half-lidded eyes, fully upholstered lips, curves like a European sports car, and legs of a swimsuit model, who would tutor me with her feminine wiles before I went off to college."

Well...Perry's exchange student, Gobija Zaksauskas, is short, pasty, shy, uneasy and befuddled--or so Perry thinks, until the night of the prom, to which he has been bulldozed into taking Gobi by his control freak of a dad. Gobi starts the evening in a traditional Lithuanian ceremonial costume, but that's definitely not the girl who emerges from the ladies' room later on that night to complicate Perry's life in SO many ways...

Read it to find out why Perry was ready to say, Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick!
