Calling All Diana Gabaldon Fans!

Outlander is by far my favorite book of all time. The saga has legions of fans around the world and there are even  "Jamie & Claire" tours in Scotland, where one can visit the places mentioned in the books. Currently, there are seven books in the series, with an eighth coming out this fall.

Outlander was a truly genre-bending book when it was released more than 25 years ago. It has something for everyone: romance, time travel, Scottish warriors, history, and lots of adventure. If you have never experienced the exhilaration of this truly exceptional series, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Outlander.

That being said, fans can now look forward to the book coming to cable television!

Starz has given a 16-episode order to Sony for a series based on the Outlander books, with production slated to begin in Scotland this October. Read more about it at Deadline Hollywood.

In the meantime, check out Diana Gabaldon's first graphic novel, The Exile.  It retells in graphic novel format approximately the first third of Outlander from Jamie Fraser's point of view, revealing events never seen in the original story. Look for it in the fiction section at Buena Vista Branch.
