The fourth library branch, part 5

Next on our tour of Burbank Public Library's website (our fourth branch) is the "EVENTS" page. Click here to find out what's happening at the library! The library plays an active role in our community by presenting a variety of cultural and educational events throughout the year. Thanks to the generous funding of the Friends of the Burbank Public Library, the library is able to offer high-caliber entertainment for people of all ages. This includes events for people of diverse interests--movies, lectures, author visits, performances...the list goes on!

On this page, you will see three or four featured events (they will be the ones coming up next on the calendar), but you can click the link at the top of the page to "view the full calendar of events." And if you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will discover another link--this one will subscribe you to our RSS feed so you never miss a library event!

Speaking of upcoming events...NEXT WEEK AT THE LIBRARY:

On Tuesday, it's Teen Movie Night--we'll be screening The Perks of Being A Wallflower, based on the young adult novel by Stephen Chbosky. This program is for teens only, and since the movie is rated PG13, people under 13 must bring a note from a parent or guardian.

Tuesday, August 13, 7:00 p.m., @ Buena Vista branch

On Thursday, there will be a Youth Literacy Tutor Orientation. Would you like to help children in 4th-12th grades improve their phonic, common word and fluency skills? Register for the August 15 and 17 Workshop. For more information, call 818-238-5577.

Thursday, August 15, 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Central Library
