Burbank Public Library's “HOW-TO” FESTIVAL!

We are celebrating 100 years of library service in Burbank that day at the Central Library, by giving you the chance to learn a little about a lot!

Here are a few more things you can learn at our "how-to" stations on the big day:

At half-hour intervals all morning, you can get some advise about how to pick inexpensive wines to pair with food, from the wine experts at BevMo.

At 10:30 a.m., you will discover how to transform your head of long hair into a lovely braided hairstyle with Amy Thuotte, from Shear Eclipse.
Can't tell a rook from a knight? Learn the basics of chess with Kevin Bulone, on the hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tired of being stuck by the side of the road? Bike Angels will show you how to change a tire  in less time than it takes to download a YouTube video! On the hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Get crafty with Park, Recreation and Community Services--learn how to make your own lanyard, friendship bracelet or key chain! At half-hour intervals.

Get started tickling the ivories--learn how to play the piano in less than 20 minutes, with Donn Angelos from Shakespeare at Play. Five opportunities.

We'll keep featuring topics here, just to give you a taste, but the entire day's SCHEDULE is now available HERE.

A few things you need to know about this special day:
  • The Central Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Computers and reference will not be available that day at Central.
  • Buena Vista Branch will be open regular hours with Internet access and Reference staff available.
We hope you will Celebrate the Century with us on October 5!
