From Chekhov with Love!

You could buy $50 tickets to a big fancy downtown theater this winter to see a mash-up of Chekhov could drive a looong way, pay a lot for parking, dress up in uncomfortable finery...but why? Why do that, when you can see Chekhov right here in Burbank?

Please join us at the Buena Vista Library this Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. for a bravura performance by our Burbank teens!

They will be presenting From Chekhov with Love, a readers' theater performance of humorous selections from the writings of Anton Chekhov, including The Brute, The Chameleon, and A Marriage Proposal.

Readers' theater, for the uninitiated, is a "staged reading" of the material, which means that the participants read aloud from their scripts rather than memorizing lines, and there is minimal staging and few props. But make no mistake--readers' theater is lively and dynamic, and is read with all the expression and passion intended by the author!

This is the fifth readers' theater production put on by our young adult services department and starring "our" teens, and if you haven't seen one yet, you don't know what you have missed--don't miss this one!

This is a teen program, but all are welcome to attend! (And it's FREE, there's plenty of parking, and there will be refreshments at intermission…)
