Best of 2014: Three good ones

Some of the many items [old and new] enjoyed by Burbank Public Library staff during 2014, recommended for your consideration:

My favorite books of the year were:

All the Truth That's in Me, by Julie Berry. It highlights the strength of love found in a young girl in a seemingly hopeless situation.

Nick of Time, by Ted Bell. This is a time travel book that switches between 1939 England and the time of the evil pirate Captain Billy Blood. Twelve-year-old Nick discovers a time machine and must fight a ruthless pirate in two different centuries.

A Hitch at the Fairmont, by Jim Averbeck, is a historical fiction mystery that introduces the reader to the famous movie director Alfred Hitchcock. The plot involves kidnappings, disguises, close escapes and an interesting twist in the plot.
