Write an essay in a test-like environment, and receive a score from one of Kaplan’s expert graders. You must sign up for this seminar: email melliott@burbankca.gov. Participants please arrive no later than 6:45 p.m.--the seminar will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.

LITERACY TUTOR ORIENTATION
Have you been thinking about becoming a tutor?
The Literacy Department is hosting a Tutor Orientation on Thursday, September 24. The Orientation will give an overview of the program, explain what to expect during the training, and introduce you to some of the office’s many support materials.

The Tutor Training will be held on Saturday, September 26 and Saturday, October 3. If you’re interested in attending or would like more information, please call the Literacy Department at (818) 238-5577.

HAPPY 35th BIRTHDAY to the FRIENDS of the Burbank Public Library!

Join us for an afternoon of family fun, starting with a comedy/magic performance by Joel Ward at 1:30 pm.

A light Chocolate Decadence Buffet will be offered at 3:00 p.m., immediately followed by a book talk by mystery author Daryl Wood Gerber, who will discuss her latest cozy mystery in the Cookbook Nook series, entitled Fudging the BooksThe book will be available for purchase and signing.
