MONDAY


Today is the first day of the Teen Read Month writing contest! Teens in grades 6-12 can write and submit a retold fairy tale, four to six pages (double-space, 12-pt. type!), and prizes will be awarded to the top writers. Last day to submit (i.e., the final deadline) is in one month, on November 12, at 5 p.m.

ROCK & ROLL'S
NOT A CRIME

Burbank Public Library and the SoCal Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America present an exploration of the influence of rock music on West Coast crime writers. Moderator S.W. Lauden engages modern crime writers (Craig Faustus Buck, Anonymous-9, Josh Stallings, and Eric Beetner) in a conversation about the rock aesthetic in crime writing, some of their biggest rock influences, and why rock and crime make such great bedfellows.
