THE GAY REVOLUTION:
THE STORY OF STRUGGLE
To commemorate Gay History Month, author Lillian Faderman will be here to discuss her newly published book, The Gay Revolution: The Story of Struggle, in which she provides the definitive account of the fight for LGBTQ rights. The book is the most complete and authoritative book of its kind, and will be available for puchase and signing.

Proof of attendance slips will be provided at the end of the program for students who attend for extra credit.

MINIATURE OFRENDA CRAFT
for DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
Make your own MINIATURE OFRENDA in an ALTOIDS TIN! For teens in grades 6-12. You can honor a family member, a friend, a pet, a celebrity—whomever you like.

WE will provide the box and many craft items to decorate it. YOU should bring a small photo of your person (don’t cut up an original, make a photocopy!), plus anything TINY you want to include that is personal to him or her.

VOICES OF THE GENERATIONS
Speaker Julie Kohner, daughter of Holocaust survivors Walter and Hanna Kohner, tells the story of her parents' experience during and after World War II. Julie hopes sharing her family’s story will help all of us better understand the atrocities and losses of the Holocaust.

Julie Kohner has been presenting this program across the country for more than 20 years, and has been featured at the Hammer Museum, Lincoln Center in New York, and various schools and libraries around the world. We are honored to present this program to the Burbank community.


The book Hanna & Walter: A Love Story will be available for purchase. Proof of attendance slips will be provided at the end of the program to students who attend for extra credit. There will also be a drawing for students to win a copy of the book.
