This week at the library...

This week, it's all about the

Friends of the Burbank Public Library
AUTUMN USED BOOK SALE!

The Central Library auditorium is filled to bursting with hardcover and paperback fiction and nonfiction for adults, teens and children, plus reference, audio, CDs and DVDs for sale at incredibly reasonable prices.

Beyond that, though, is the satisfaction of knowing you are supporting the library in a very real way by spending your dollars (or quarters!) at this sale, since funds raised by the Friends pay for:

Children's programming (such as the Fairy Book Party, Family Nights, crafts...)
Teen programming (such as three book clubs for teens, Readers' Theater, Book Cafe, crafts, contest prizes...)
Adult programming (movie licensing, bands, speakers, performers, author events...)
Special projects and acquisitions by the library
In fact, without funding by the Friends, there wouldn't be much going on at the library!

The hours are as follows:

Monday, October 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. -- special preview open to Friends members only!
(Hint: If you join the Friends, this preview is open to you, too! You can line up the afternoon of the preview and pay your dues while standing in line.)

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 27-29: 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 30: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 31: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Winter is coming! (we hope) So stockpile some good reads and help out the library!
