Burbank Public Library is holding a fundraiser to benefit its Literacy Department, which has been offering free tutoring in reading to local adults for almost two decades.
The annual Trivia Challenge event is on Thursday, April 7, at 6:00 p.m. The festivities will take place in the Ritz Banquet Hall at St. Leon's Cathedral, located at 3325 N. Glenoaks Blvd. in Burbank.
The Trivia Challenge, hosted this year by the city's Public Information Officer Mr. Drew Sugars, usually draws an audience of more than 200 community members to root for teams sponsored by local companies and groups.
Form a team with two friends! The cost of entering a team is $250.00. Battle it out for trivia supremacy against Men from U.N.C.L.E. (House of Secrets), Dewey and the Decimals (the library team), The Answer is Momentous (Momentous Insurance), and the VoluntEARS (Team Disney)!
Be an audience member and watch the trivia fun while enjoying a delicious buffet dinner and no-host bar (and supporting your library!). Tickets are $25.00 each beforehand, or $30 at the door. For ticket or team information, please call 818 238-5577.
Part of the evening's fun also includes opportunity drawings for items and discounts donated by many businesses and individuals in the city. Your chances of winning something are good! A few of the items in the drawing are lunch with the police chief, VIP passes to the Autrey Museum, and bowling at Pickwick.
Trivia Challenge is sponsored by the Friends of the Burbank Public Library. All checks should be made out to the Friends, and returned to:
