This week at the library...

MONDAY
Central Library, 7:00 p.m.

Opera Talk presents...
THE ABDUCTION FROM THE SERAGLIO
A multimedia presentation and discussion of the opera led by our guest speaker from LA Opera’s Community Engagement Program. In this production, Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio has been updated to the Roaring Twenties. This riotous staging marries the brilliance of Mozart’s comic gem with the flair of a classic Hollywood comedy. En route from Istanbul to Paris, two beautiful damsels in distress are held captive aboard the luxurious Orient Express by a notorious Ottoman royal. It’s up to their faithful lovers to rescue them before it’s too late!

WEDNESDAY
Central Library
110 N. Glenoaks Blvd.

The first day you are able to turn in your entry for the Friends of the Burbank Public Library Amateur Photography Contest! The LAST day for entering your photo is February 18. The Awards Reception will be held at the Buena Vista Branch on Thursday, March 9, and the photo exhibit will be up thereafter at the Central Library in the auditorium.
