From their perspectives as contemporary citizens concerned about sustainable food systems, the quality of our food, and the promises of urban farming, the authors look back on the history of agriculture in Los Angeles from the rancho days to the present, presenting a fascinating history of our local agricultural heritage and exploring what that history might teach us as we address issues of environment and sustainability
in our urban spaces today.
