SUMMER STORYTIME
Summer Storytime is for children entering Kindergarten and younger. Storytime programs expose children and their parents and caregivers to books, simple songs, finger plays, rhymes, and crafts.





Central Library, 6:30 p.m.

FRENCH LANGUAGE BOOK CLUB
The club has read and will discuss Neige, by Orhan Pamuk. The club meets at 6:30 pm on the first Tuesday of the month. For more information, call Isabelle at 818-238-5620.

Teen Summer Reading presents...
BOOK CAFÉ 
Book Café is a gathering place where teens can share what they're reading, trade books, and hang out for coffee-house-style refreshments. They can also meet authors at two of the sessions! It's part of "Reading by Design," the summer reading program for teens.

Bring whatever you're reading with you. There will be four sessions of Book Café this summer: June 6, 20, & 27, and July 11. If you attend three of the four sessions, you get a FREE BOOK! Prize drawings for books at all sessions, and a special gift for all attendees (while supplies last). For teens in grades 7-12 only.

TUTOR ORIENTATION
Burbank Public Library has provided literacy services since 1992. We offer FREE one-to-one tutoring to adults, 18 or older, who speak and understand English, but read and write below 8th grade level. Call 818 238 5577 to sign up and attend an orientation to learn more about becoming a tutor.

Kids who read a lot over the summer not only maintain reading skills, they go back to school better prepared for all subjects. The library makes summer reading fun. Read! Write! and Win! Submit book reviews online and come to the library to collect your prizes and enjoy super entertainment. Open to kids in grades 1-6 only. Due to limited to space, parents and caregivers must wait outside the meeting room.

Learn how to create a simple presentation. Create slides, and add text, color, background designs, graphics, and animation. Both sessions (Thursday and Saturday) are now full. Call 818-238-5580 for more information.

TEENS: BUILD LITTLE FREE LIBRARIES!
A Little Free Library (LFL) is a “take a book, leave a book” free book exchange. This summer, as part of “Reading by Design,” teens in grades 7-12 will build three LFLs for Burbank! You can drop in on the session(s) of your choice. But if you sign up for the entire project, you will receive service hours for your participation. TO REGISTER: Teens should email burbank.teens@gmail.com with NAME, PHONE #, and EMAIL ADDRESS.

Tonight is our brainstorming DESIGN session, when we will decide colors and decor for our LFLs. All teens in grades 7-10 are welcome!

Sounds of Summer presents...
OUTDOOR CONCERT with JAY LEACH and LOS STEEL
Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and join us for our first Sounds of Summer Concert featuring the smooth sounds of Guitarist Jay Leach & Los Steel, whose musical styles include rock, boogie-woogie, jazz, and even a little country. Jay’s credits include American Idol and The Voice and vocalist Chelsea Diblasi can be heard in movies ranging from Pirates of the Caribbean to Harry Potter.

This program is part of our Summer Reading Club for Grown-Ups which runs through July 27, but EVERYONE is welcome to attend this program. You can sign up at burbanklibrary.com, and you will automatically be entered in our weekly prize drawings. Read books. Write reviews. Attend programs. And enjoy the summer.
